According to Defence spokesperson, Army troops in Sunderbani Sector along the Line of Control in Jammu had a fierce encounter with heavily armed Pakistani intruders Sunday afternoon.
In the encounter that took place very close to the Line of Control, the Army troops killed two intruders and recovered huge quantity of arms and ammunition including two AK-47 rifles from them.
Three army soldiers attained martyrdom while fighting the intruders while one soldier suffered grievous injuries who has been air evacuated to Army Command hospital, Udhampur and is reported to be stable.
Responding quickly the troops from nearby posts effectively cordoned the area and a massive search operation was on in the when last reports came in.
THREE TERRORISTS KILLED IN KULGAM ENCOUNTER
In another encounter, three terrorists were killed in an encounter which broke out between terrorists and security forces in Jammu and Kashmir’s Kulgam district. An army jawan was also injured in the gunfight. Six civilian were also killed in a separate blast at the encounter site.
A cordon and search operation was launched in the laroo area in South Kashmir Sunday morning, following specific information about the presence of terrorists in the area.
Police officials said the forces were conducting searches when the terrorists fired upon them and an encounter broke out.
