Jaipur, April 15 (Udaipur Kiran): The Railways has started a regular superfast express service between Jaipur and Udaipur from today, replacing the earlier special train service. The move is expected to provide better and timely travel options for daily passengers.
According to North Western Railway, the new arrangement has come into effect from April 15. Train number 20993 will depart from Jaipur at 06:10 am and reach Udaipur City at 1:30 pm. In the return direction, train number 20994 will leave Udaipur City at 3:05 pm and arrive in Jaipur at 10:25 pm.
The train will halt at several stations en route, including Kanakpura, Phulera, Kishangarh, Ajmer, Nasirabad, Bijaynagar, Bhilwara, as well as Chanderiya and Kapasan in Chittorgarh district, and Mavli near Udaipur. This will provide a faster and direct travel option for passengers from these areas.
Passengers from Chanderiya and nearby regions are expected to benefit significantly. While the existing intercity train on this route reaches Chittorgarh at around 8:00 am and returns at 7:30 pm, the new superfast train will reach Chanderiya at 11:05 am from Jaipur and at 4:58 pm on the return journey. It will also stop at Kapasan at 4:13 pm while returning from Udaipur.
Unlike the intercity train, which halts at Chittorgarh Junction, this train will stop at Chanderiya station. This will benefit passengers from nearby areas, as they will not need to travel to Chittorgarh city to board the train.
The train will have a total of 15 coaches, including 2 third AC, 2 air-conditioned chair cars, 3 sleeper coaches, 6 general coaches, one power car, and one guard coach, offering travel options for passengers across different budget categories.
