Sydney, October 24 (Udaipur Kiran): Rising New South Wales all-rounder Jack Edwards has received his maiden international call-up for Australia’s third and final ODI against India in Sydney. Cricket Australia announced multiple squad changes across both the ODI and T20 series, with Glenn Maxwell and Ben Dwarshuis set to make their comebacks in the closing T20 matches, while 20-year-old pacer Mahli Beardman joins the T20 squad for the final three games.

Edwards’ selection comes on the back of his stellar domestic and Australia A performances during the India tour, where he scored 88 runs in Lucknow and produced an impressive 4/56 and 89 runs in Kanpur. His inclusion gives Australia the flexibility to test an all-rounder-heavy combination for the series decider.
Meanwhile, Marnus Labuschagne has been released from the ODI squad to represent Queensland in the upcoming Sheffield Shield match against New South Wales.
Josh Hazlewood and Sean Abbott will not feature in the final T20 games, returning to state duties. Hazlewood will play only the first two T20Is, while Abbott will remain available until the third match.
Matthew Kuhnemann, who featured in the opening ODI, has been recalled for the third ODI, while Josh Philippe joins the T20 squad as a backup wicketkeeper with Josh Inglis still recovering from a calf injury.
Glenn Maxwell, who fractured his wrist during training in New Zealand last month, is fit again and will return for the final three T20Is. Ben Dwarshuis, sidelined earlier with a calf injury, is also set to return for the fourth and fifth T20Is.
Young pacer Mahli Beardman, who impressed for Perth Scorchers and Western Australia with 12 wickets in four List-A matches at an average of 17.75, will strengthen Australia’s pace attack in the later stages of the series.
Australia’s Director of Cricket praised the selections, highlighting the balance of experience and emerging talent aimed at preparing for upcoming international commitments.
