New Delhi, July 15: The beta version of the Indian Railway Catering and Tourism Corporation (IRCTC) new website will be available from 9 PM tonight, allowing users to experience the revamped interface and provide feedback on its features.
The beta version can be accessed at HTTPS://WWW.IRCTC.CO.IN/ETICKET/. The link to the beta version will also be available on the homepage of the existing website.
During a discussion with students from Malaviya National Institute of Technology (MNIT), Rail Minister Ashwini Vaishnaw highlighted the improvements made to the website.
Launched in 2002, the IRCTC website currently handles an average of approximately 1.45 million ticket bookings daily. The new website features a clean and user-friendly interface, with four major enhancements in the beta version: no unnecessary captchas, no pop-ups, no flashy graphics, and no distracting elements. Seat availability is displayed across all categories, the number of booking steps has been reduced, and passenger details are securely stored.
Students were involved in the design process, providing suggestions to enhance the website’s look and experience. Based on the feedback received, the new website is ready for testing. The beta version will enable users to provide further feedback on necessary improvements, which can be incorporated into the upcoming version of the website.
