Industry Leader Ravikant Meets PM Modi, Presents New Book

New Delhi, July 19: Renowned industry leader Ravikant met with Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Saturday and presented him with a copy of his book, “Leading from the Back – To Achieve the Impossible.”

The Prime Minister’s Office (PMO) shared the news on the social media platform X, highlighting the significant meeting between Ravikant and PM Modi.

Dr. Ravikant is a globally recognized corporate executive with over 50 years of experience in the extractive, consumer durables, and automobile industries. His most recent position was as Vice Chairman at Tata.

He serves as an industrial professor at the University of Warwick in the UK and is a distinguished professor at IIT Kharagpur.

Ravikant previously held the role of CEO and Managing Director at Tata Motors, later becoming Vice Chairman of the board. He led the acquisition of Jaguar Land Rover in the UK and Tata Daewoo in South Korea, and played a key role in establishing Tata Motors in Thailand and other companies, significantly increasing revenue from $1.5 billion to $39 billion. He has chaired several companies, including Tata Advanced Materials, Hispano Carrocera in Spain, and Tata Motors European Technical Centre in the UK, and has served as a director for Tata Industries, Voltas, Vedanta Limited, and Jaguar Land Rover.

Additionally, he is involved with the boards of Philips India, Kone Limited (Helsinki), Hawkins Cookers Limited, and Accenture India.

Ravikant holds an undergraduate degree from Mayo College, a B.Tech (Honors) from the Indian Institute of Technology, Kharagpur, an MSc in Management Techniques from Aston University, Birmingham, UK, and a DSc (Honors) from Aston University.
