Indian women boxers dominate Asian Youth Championships

World champion Nitu Ghanghas in 48kg category led the charge, out-punching local favourite Nillada Meekoon to claim the first gold for India. Manisha in 64kg category and Lalita in 69kg category also finished on top in the tournament.

Settling for silver medals were three women finalists, Anamika in 51kg catgory, Sakshi in 81kg catgory and Neha Yadav +81kg catgory and lone male finalist Ankit Khatana in 60kg category. Overall, the Indians signed off with three gold, four silver and four bronze medals in the event, which was also a qualifying tournament for the Youth Olympics later this year.
