Bhopal, 2 September (Kiran News): The Income Tax Department conducted simultaneous raids on over thirty locations in Mumbai and the cities of Bhopal and Indore in Madhya Pradesh on Tuesday morning. The operation is underway at Science House Medical Private Limited (SHMPL), located at MP Nagar in Bhopal, as well as at its partner institutions in Indore. According to sources, a large quantity of documents related to tax evasion has been seized during the raids, and investigations are ongoing.
Multiple teams from the Income Tax Department have been searching more than six locations in Bhopal since early morning. A large police force has also been deployed at these sites. The team reached Science House around 5 am. The main office of Science House has been operating at house number C-25, Gautam Nagar, Bhopal, since 1994. The company supplies medical equipment across the country, provides diagnostic services, and offers pathology lab and private hospital services.
Currently, officials are questioning the company’s operator, Jitendra Tiwari, as well as his associates, software engineer Rohit Gupta, consultant Dinesh Baroliya, and Shikha Rajoria. In 2024, the Economic Offences Wing (EOW) had also registered a case in Rewa against Jitendra Tiwari and Shailendra Tiwari for selling medical kits at higher rates, following which both were sent to jail. It is noteworthy that Shailendra Tiwari is the director of Science House. According to sources, a significant amount of documents related to tax evasion have been seized and are being examined by the department’s team. The operation is believed to be linked to the uncovering of large-scale tax evasion.
The Income Tax Department has also raided the residence of medical businessman Rajesh Gupta in Bhopal. A substantial police presence has been deployed outside his house, number 64 B in Panchvati, Lalghati, Bhopal. Reports suggest that Rajesh Gupta manufactures medical surgical items and operates a factory producing medical surgical equipment abroad. Rajesh Gupta owns a factory in Uganda.
