Union Home Minister Rajnath Singh has reiterated that Centre is willing to talk to all stakeholders for bringing lasting peace and development in the state of Jammu & Kashmir.
Addressing a press conference in Srinagar on the first day of his two day visit to the state, the Home Minister appealed to the people to come forward for peace and development of the state.
He lauded the role of security forces including Army and Police who he said, have worked with utmost restraint.
The Home Minister said, extending the suspension of counter terrorist operations in Ramzan will be discussed after taking into account all aspects of security. He said that the government is open to talks with right-minded people in Jammu and Kashmir.
Earlier, the Home Minister reviewed security situation in the State and arrangements for upcoming annual Amarnath Yatra beginning on 28th of this month. He also reviewed the implementation of PM’s development package to the state. Rajnath Singh made it clear that there will be no compromise with efforts to ensure peace and prosperity for the Valley.
The Home Minister also felicitated several sportspersons from the state. Nine-year-old Tajamul Ismal who won the kickboxing world championship while competing with competitors from 90 countries was also honoured at the platform.
