Udaipur, 22 August 2025 (Kiran News): In a major action, Hiranmagri Police have exposed a gang operating a fake call centre that was cheating American citizens in the name of providing loans. Five accused from Ahmedabad, Gujarat have been arrested, and six laptops, ten mobile phones, five headphones, and other electronic devices have been seized.

Following directions from Udaipur Superintendent of Police Shri Yogesh Goyal to take action against criminals misusing technology to commit financial frauds, a team was formed under the leadership of SHO Bharat Yogi. Acting on intelligence and with technical support, the team, under the supervision of Additional Superintendent of Police Shri Umesh Ojha and Deputy Superintendent of Police Shri Chhagan Purohit, raided a flat in Krishnangan Apartment, Sector 03, Hiranmagri, Udaipur.
The accused were running a fake call centre and cheating American citizens by offering them low-interest loans. The seized items include six laptops, ten mobile phones, five headphones, and internet routers from Jio and Airtel. Case number 292/2025 has been registered under Sections 316(2), 318(4), 319(2), 112(2), 61(2) of BNS 2023 and Sections 66C and 66D of the IT Act. Further investigation is ongoing.
The gang used an application named ‘Wear’ that provided mobile numbers of American citizens to the call centre operators. The accused then contacted these individuals claiming to offer low-interest online loans without any ID proof, especially targeting those with poor credit scores. They extorted money under the pretext of loan processing and other fake charges.

Anand Degamdia, son of Vithal Bhai Degamdia, age 33, resident of House No. 74, Shivsukh Nagar, opposite Ratanpura village, Vastral, PS Ramul, District Daskroi, Ahmedabad, Gujarat.
Archit Pandey, son of Itendra Babu Pandey, age 32, resident of B-45, Amrapali Society, Ajay Tenament, Mahadev Nagar, Vastral, PS Ramul, District Daskroi, Ahmedabad, Gujarat.
Suraj Singh Tomar, son of Mahendra Singh Tomar, age 25, resident of B-14, Sakar Tenament, in front of Cosmos Villa, Vastral Road, PS Ramul, District Daskroi, Ahmedabad, Gujarat.
Asu Rajput, son of Rajendra Singh Rajput, age 21, resident of C/61, Sakar Tenament, near Cosmos Villa, Vastral Road, PS Ramul, District Daskroi, Ahmedabad, Gujarat.
