Ahmedabad, July 4 (Udaipur Kiran): The monsoon has turned towards North Gujarat after South Gujarat and Saurashtra. Heavy rains were recorded in Danta taluka of Banaskantha on Thursday. 8 inches (203 mm) of rain in 4 hours here turned the surrounding areas into a pond-like situation. Waterlogging was seen at several places in Palanpur, 2 inches of rain in the district. 1.25 inches of rain was recorded in Kadi of Mehsana district. According to the news, 63 talukas received rain in the state from 6 am to 12 pm on Thursday.

From 6 am to 12 noon on Thursday, 202 mm rain was recorded in Danta taluka of Banaskantha, 67 mm in Tilakwada taluka of Narmada district, 62 mm in Vadgam of Banaskantha, 47 mm in Palanpur, 36 mm in Nandod taluka of Narmada district, 34 mm in Jhagadia of Bharuch, 30 mm in Satlasana of Mehsana, 30 mm in Umarpada of Surat, 25 mm in Khedbrahma of Sabarkantha, 25 mm in Naswadi of Chhota Udepur, 24 mm in Vadali of Sabarkantha, 24 mm in Garudeshwar of Narmada district, 21 mm in Ankleshwar of Bharuch, 16 mm in Kavant of Chhota Udepur, 16 mm in Vijayanagar of Sabarkantha, 15 mm in Kheralu of Mehsana, 14 mm in Kamrej of Surat, 13 mm in Halol taluka of Panchmahal and 13 mm in Surat city.

Rainfall situation in the state zone-wise

So far during the monsoon, a total of 124.1 mm of rain has been recorded in the Kutch zone of the state. This is 25.59 percent of the total average rainfall here. Similarly, 100.08 mm (13.71 percent) in North Gujarat, 105.02 mm (12.95 percent) in Central Gujarat, 215.08 mm (29.15 percent) in Saurashtra and 312.83 mm (20.97 percent) in South Gujarat. Thus, the average rainfall in the entire Gujarat has been 177.94 mm so far, which is about 20.15 percent of the total average rainfall.
