Heavy Rain Begins in Western Rajasthan After Eastern Regions

Jaipur, August 14 (Udaipur Kiran) – The weather department has issued a heavy rainfall alert for Jaipur and three other districts in Rajasthan on Wednesday. An orange alert has been issued for these four districts, while a yellow alert is in place for 23 districts. After heavy rain in Eastern Rajasthan, the Western parts are now experiencing heavy rainfall. On Tuesday, districts like Jaisalmer, Jodhpur, Karauli, and Alwar saw significant rainfall.

Experts at the Jaipur Meteorological Center have predicted that the intensity of rainfall in Rajasthan will decrease after August 15. However, light to moderate rain will continue in various areas. In the past 24 hours, Karauli’s Suroth received 65 mm of rain, Shrimahavirji 36 mm, Hindaun 35 mm, Dausa’s Lalsot 57 mm, Ramgarh Pachwara 32 mm, Alwar’s Kotkasim 38 mm, Kishangarhbass 26 mm, Nagaur’s Khinwsar 44 mm, Jhunjhunu’s Udaipurwati 51 mm, Jodhpur’s Phalodi 36 mm, Bhilwara’s Jahazpur 40 mm, Dabla 39 mm, and Jaisalmer’s Pokhran 49 mm of rain. The Morel Dam in Dausa and Sawai Madhopur, which supplies water to onion farms, is now full. This morning, the dam reached its full capacity of 30.5 feet.

In the state capital Jaipur, clouds covered the sky in the morning. The weather department has issued an alert for heavy rain in Jaipur today as well. The Bisalpur Dam, which is the lifeline for Jaipur and three other districts, continues to see a rise in water levels. This morning, the water level in the dam reached 312.60 RL meters.

The water level in the Bisalpur Dam is rising rapidly. In the past 24 hours, the dam’s water level has increased by 12 centimeters. The total capacity of the dam is 315.50 RL meters. Meanwhile, the Irrigation Department has closed two gates of the Parvati Dam due to decreasing water inflow, while water continues to be released through two other gates. The dam’s water level is at 222.95, with an inflow of 61.55 cumecs, and the department is releasing the same amount of water. After a long wait, water from Karauli’s Panchana Dam has reached the Keoladeo National Park. On Tuesday, the Ajan Dam filled by around five and a half feet due to the water from Panchana. The water flow increased overnight, and around 35,000 cusecs of water was released from Panchana Dam after heavy rain in Karauli.

The Jaipur Weather Center has issued an orange alert for heavy rain in Jaipur, Sikar, Jhunjhunu, and Nagaur on Wednesday. A yellow alert has been issued for light to moderate rain in all other districts, except Rajsamand, Udaipur, Dungarpur, Banswara, Pratapgarh, and Chittorgarh.
