Kolkata, June 17 (Udaipur Kiran): The heatwave has intensified once again in various parts of West Bengal, including the capital city Kolkata.
According to a statement issued on Monday by the regional headquarters of the Alipore Meteorological Department, Kolkata recorded a maximum temperature of 36.4 degrees Celsius, which is three degrees above normal.
The minimum temperature was recorded at 30.2 degrees Celsius, four degrees higher than usual. Besides Kolkata, areas such as Howrah, Hooghly, North and South 24 Parganas, East and West Medinipur, among others, have also experienced an increase in temperatures.
In South Bengal, temperatures have soared between 30 to 40 degrees Celsius, while regions like Alipurduar, Cooch Behar, Jalpaiguri, Darjeeling, and Kalimpong in North Bengal are likely to experience rainfall throughout the day. Similar weather conditions are expected to prevail on Wednesday.
