Jaipur, May 10: Gujarat Titans (GT) have made history by recording their biggest victory in the Indian Premier League (IPL) by runs. The team triumphed over Rajasthan Royals (RR) by 77 runs in the 52nd match of IPL 2026 held on Saturday.
Previously, Gujarat Titans had secured a 62-run win against Mumbai Indians in a qualifier match in 2023. In 2022, they defeated Lucknow Super Giants by the same margin. Before this match, they had also beaten Rajasthan Royals by 58 runs in 2025 and Lucknow Super Giants by 56 runs in 2023.
This match marks the fourth-largest defeat by runs for Rajasthan Royals in IPL history. They had lost by 112 runs to Royal Challengers Bangalore in 2023 and by 100 runs to Mumbai Indians in 2025. In 2021, Gujarat Titans faced an 86-run defeat against Kolkata Knight Riders.
Since 2025, Rajasthan Royals have lost 7 out of 8 matches at home in Jaipur. Meanwhile, Gujarat Titans have won 7 out of 10 matches against Rajasthan Royals, including 3 out of 4 matches played in Jaipur.
In the match held at Sawai Mansingh Stadium, Gujarat Titans batted first, scoring 229 runs for the loss of 4 wickets, thanks to impressive innings from Sai Sudharsan (55) and captain Shubman Gill (84). In response, Rajasthan Royals were bowled out for just 152 runs in 16.3 overs, with Ravindra Jadeja contributing the highest score of 38 runs and Vaibhav Suryaanshi adding 36 runs. Rashid Khan was the standout bowler for Titans, taking 4 wickets for 33 runs.
With this victory, Gujarat Titans have climbed to the second position in the points table, having won 7 out of 11 matches, while Rajasthan Royals have slipped to fifth place with 5 losses out of 11 matches.
