Surat, May 1: Gujarat Chief Minister Bhupendra Patel inaugurated the third edition of the Vibrant Gujarat Regional Conference (VGRC) for South Gujarat on Friday. The two-day conference aims to promote regional industrial development, investment, and global cooperation.
Held at Auro University on May 1 and 2, this conference is part of the state government’s broader initiative to implement the model of the Vibrant Gujarat Global Summit at the regional level.
All members of the state cabinet attended the event, along with Union Minister of Petroleum Hardeep Singh Puri and Minister of Jal Shakti C.R. Patil.
Before the inaugural session, the Vibrant Gujarat Regional Exhibition (VGRE) commenced, showcasing industries, MSMEs, startups, and government departments from the districts of Surat, Bharuch, Navsari, Valsad, Tapi, and Dangs.
Chief Minister Bhupendra Patel toured various pavilions and stalls at the exhibition, engaging with entrepreneurs and startup representatives. He gathered insights on new technologies, green energy units, modern agricultural methods, and emerging service sector models.
The Chief Minister emphasized the importance of private sector participation, entrepreneurs, and youth in the state’s development.
Representatives from partner countries and industry leaders are discussing investment and collaboration topics at the conference. The South Gujarat edition includes partner countries such as Japan, Rwanda, Ukraine, and Singapore, along with organizations like JETRO, USISPF, AmCham, and KOTRA.
The program features seminars, panel discussions, and roundtable meetings focusing on sectors like agriculture and horticulture, textiles, chemicals and petrochemicals, startups, energy, fertilizers, and global supply chains.
Special sessions on women’s empowerment and business opportunities in various countries are also part of the agenda.
Additionally, reverse buyer-seller meetings, vendor development programs, and Business-to-Business (B2B) and Business-to-Government (B2G) meetings are being organized to create new partnership and investment opportunities.
The South Gujarat conference is part of a series of regional events held between the Vibrant Gujarat Global Summits, aimed at maintaining investment momentum and promoting inclusive economic development across the state.
