Mumbai, July 24: Anand Dubey, spokesperson for Shiv Sena (UBT), has criticized the central government regarding the NEET paper leak case and the ongoing student protests at Jantar Mantar in Delhi. He stated that if any irregularities or anti-national activities arise during a protest, the police should act impartially. The law must take its course, and those responsible should be arrested, but the peaceful movement advocating for students’ interests should not be affected or discredited.
Dubey emphasized that the NEET paper leak issue is not confined to Delhi; students in several states, including Bihar, Prayagraj, and Maharashtra, are protesting over this matter. He pointed out that this is a serious issue concerning students’ futures, and the government should listen to their concerns earnestly.
Responding to Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s recent video message regarding the NEET paper leak, Dubey remarked that the Prime Minister’s response came quite late. He noted that the Prime Minister mentioned raising the issue of fast-track courts in the cabinet.
Criticizing the central government, Dubey stated that there is a need for reform in the country’s systems. Incidents of paper leaks are not new and have repeatedly highlighted serious flaws in the system. The primary demand from students is to make the examination system transparent and reliable. He mentioned that social activist Sonam Wangchuk has ended his hunger strike, but students’ demand for the resignation of Union Education Minister Dharmendra Pradhan still stands.
Dubey warned that the longer this issue remains unresolved, the greater the loss for the country and its students. He urged the government to facilitate a detailed discussion in Parliament on this matter and find a swift resolution.
He also announced that Shiv Sena (UBT) chief Uddhav Thackeray and Maharashtra Navnirman Sena (MNS) chief Raj Thackeray will march from Shivtirath to Siddhivinayak Temple on July 26. He stated that the purpose of this march is to advocate for students’ safety, their bright future, and to wish for the country to emerge from the current crisis soon.
Dubey clarified that this rally is not for any specific political party but is a public movement against corruption in the examination system. He appealed to everyone to join in, asserting that protesting democratically is the right of the opposition and the public, while the decision to accept or reject demands lies with the government.
