Google to manufacture Pixel phones in India

Google has announced that it will be manufacturing its Pixel smartphones in India as part of the Make in India initiative. The company plans to start manufacturing the Pixel 8 in India in 2024.

Google CEO Sundar Pichai made the announcement in a blog post on Tuesday. He said that the company is committed to investing in India and that manufacturing Pixel phones in India is a “natural next step” for the company.

Pichai said that the company will be working with Foxconn to manufacture the Pixel 8 in India. Foxconn is a Taiwanese company that is one of the world’s largest contract manufacturers of electronics.

The Pixel 8 is Google’s flagship smartphone. It is expected to be released in October 2024.

The decision to manufacture Pixel phones in India is a major win for the Indian government’s Make in India initiative. The initiative aims to encourage foreign companies to manufacture their products in India.

The manufacturing of Pixel phones in India is expected to create jobs and boost the Indian economy.
