Google has started rolling out the latest ChromeOS update (version 123) to the stable channel. This update adds new features such as: B. the ability to customize keyboard shortcuts and mouse buttons as well as enable hotspot connectivity on mobile Chromebooks.
The company also released an update in April that includes bug fixes for the Pixel Watch and Pixel smartphones (Pixel 5A and later). These updates will be released in the coming days.

New features are coming to ChromeOS
The latest ChromeOS update introduced a new keyboard shortcut feature that is intended to work similarly with other operating systems. This feature allows users to assign specific actions to specific keyboard shortcuts.
The ability to set Chromebook shortcuts is intended to make it easier to execute commands with one hand and is similar to those available on other operating systems such as macOS.
Likewise, mouse button customization options are also useful for users of mice that have additional buttons in addition to left and right click. The latest version of ChromeOS allows users to turn their mouse’s side button into a silent button.
Separately, the company has also added per-app language settings for Android apps that users run on ChromeOS. Google also mentioned that it claims the latest update will take it offline. Text-to-speech sounds more natural.
New features of Pixel Watch and smartphones
Google has added Taptic Time to the Pixel Watch, a version of the Apple Watch-like accessibility feature that notifies users of the time with a vibrating sound. The company also said it is now easier for users to see the difference when fine-tuning the watch’s automatic brightness settings.
Finally, the April Pixel update fixes issues like camera stability when zooming. With this update, Pixel smartphone cameras will no longer reset exposure when users tap the screen. The company also announced that it has fixed a biometric bug that caused a black screen to appear when users unlocked their Pixel phones.
