The Google Pixel 9 series (consisting of Google Pixel 9, Pixel 9 Pro, Pixel 9 Pro XL and Pixel 9 Pro Fold) is expected to be unveiled at the Made by Google event scheduled for August 13th. Representations of the device’s design, key features and estimated price range have already leaked in recent weeks. Now the smartphone’s design has surfaced online again, but this time via a certification site. Battery and charging details for the next Pixel 9 series are also mentioned.
Google Pixel 9 Series Design (Leaked)
The Google Pixel 9 series was spotted by Android Authority on Taiwan’s NCC certification site. The images on the website show the complete design of the Google Pixel 9 Pro Fold. In some images, the phone looks completely flat, which is an improvement over the Google Pixel Fold, which doesn’t fully unfold.
Based on the leaked images, customers eagerly awaiting Google’s next foldable device can expect improved wrinkle control and thinner bezels on the Google Pixel 9 Pro Fold. The base model and the Pro model of the Pixel 9 are now listed in the NCC as models with a camera island like the visor, similar to the devices in the Pixel 8 series. The vanilla model features two rear camera units in a pill-shaped module in addition to an LED flash. The Pro model has a triple rear camera unit and an additional temperature sensor.
The publication also spotted a hands-on video of the Pixel 9 series smartphone on TikTok. It looks similar to the recently leaked size comparison video. A new video compares the size of the Pixel 9 Pro XL and iPhone 14 Pro Max, and a second video compares the base Pixel 9 and vanilla Pixel 8.
Google Pixel 9 series camera, battery and charging features (planned)
A third video discovered by the publication shows off the camera app features of the upcoming Google Pixel 9 Pro XL. The preset zoom options shown on the screen are 0.5x (ultra wide angle), 1x (main camera), 2x (sensor cutout) and 5x (telephoto lens). The video also shows that the camera supports up to 30x manual zoom. More information about the Pixel 9 series cameras was revealed in a previous report.
The above NCC listing also mentions battery and charging details for the Google Pixel 9 series. The Pixel 9 and Pixel 9 Pro each come with a 4,558mAh battery, while the Pixel 9 Pro XL could come with a 4,942mAh battery. The Pixel 9 Pro Fold has a 4,560 mAh battery made up of 1,183 and 3,377 mAh cells.
The list reportedly includes the Pixel 9, Pixel 9 Pro, Pixel 9 Pro XL and Pixel 9 Pro Fold, which offer wired fast charging at around 24.12W, 25.20W, 32.67W and 20.25W respectively W support, with advertised speeds above these values suggested.
