Last month, Google launched the Pixel 9, Pixel 9 Pro, Pixel 9 Pro XL, and Pixel 9 Pro Fold, and today all of these devices received their first software updates. This is a September update that applies to all Pixel devices that Google still supports. Just to be clear: this is not Android 15.
This update fixes all security vulnerabilities, but also adds bug fixes specific to the Pixel 9 family. Google says this will improve Wi-Fi stability and performance “under certain conditions,” without providing further details.
As always with Google software deployments, we expect it will take days, if not weeks, to achieve full access to all supported devices. Once this latest firmware is installed on your Pixel 9 device, it will appear as version AD1A.240905.004.
