Google Pixel 8a could be coming soon. The Mountain View, California-based tech giant hasn’t officially announced the device yet, but its nickname recently appeared on one of the company’s support pages. Therefore, we believe that the introduction of the mobile phone is imminent. The phone is expected to be unveiled at Google’s upcoming I/O event, similar to its predecessor, the Pixel 7a, which was unveiled at this year’s Google I/O conference in May 2023. Previously, key specifications and pricing details of this rumored phone were provided.
The Google Pixel 8a name was seen on the company’s IssueTracker website. In response to a question about the missing “battery information list,” a Google employee responded that this feature is only available on the Pixel 8a and newer models. This suggests that the Google Pixel 8a launch is likely to happen soon.
Specifically, it is expected to display the battery information or statistics function, the phone’s manufacturing date and the number of cycles of the Google Pixel smartphone. According to MySmartPrice, the company plans to “introduce more features to the battery statistics menu, including battery health.”
The Google Pixel 8a was recently available in 8GB + 128GB and 8GB + 256GB options, which can be priced at €570 (around Rs. 51,000) and €630 (around Rs. 56,000) respectively. It will also be available in Bay (light blue), Mint (light green), Obsidian (black) and Porcelain (beige).
A previous Geekbench listing suggests that the Google Pixel 8a is likely to be powered by a Tensor G3 chipset with an Arm Mali-G715 GPU. It is said to have 8GB of RAM and be able to run Android 14 out of the box. Previous reports also suggested that the Pixel 8a may have a standard 5,000mAh battery with a rated capacity of 4,942mAh. It is also said to support 27W wired charging. The body size of this phone may be 152.1mm x 72.6mm x 8.9mm and it may come with a dual camera system.
The older Google Pixel 7a supports a Tensor G2 SoC along with 8GB of LPDDR5 RAM and 128GB of UFS 3.1 internal storage. The device runs Android 13 and features a 6.1-inch 90Hz Full HD+ OLED display with Corning Gorilla Glass 3 protection. The dual rear camera has a 64-megapixel main sensor and a 13-megapixel sensor with an ultra-wide-angle lens. The front camera is also equipped with a 13 million pixel sensor. It also has a 4385mAh battery.
In India, Google Pixel 7a was launched at a price of Rs 20 lakh. 43,999 8GB + 128GB option. It is available in the country via Flipkart and comes in Charcoal, Snow and Navy colors.
