From Uttarakhand to Mumbai, heavy rains disrupted normal life on Tuesday. In Mumbai water clogged the city’s roads and the traffic snarled. Lower Parel, Matunga and Chembur were some of the worst affected.
In Uttarakhand, most Rivers are in spate due to heavy downpour in the upper reaches. The state’s Met dept has forecast heavy rains for 8 districts including Dehradun in the next 24 hours. Heavy torrential rains have been forecast for the Kumaon region putting the administration on alert.
The Met dept has also forecast rains in Jammu and Kashmir, UP Tamil Nadu Assam, Gujarat and Maharashtra among 17 other states that could see heavy rains in the next few days.
