Fire Breaks Out in Moving Bus in Jaipur, Passengers Escape Unharmed

Jaipur, February 27: A major accident was averted in Jaipur on Friday when a fire broke out in a moving bus belonging to the Rajasthan State Road Transport Corporation (RSRTC) near the Mansarovar RIICO intersection. Approximately 60 passengers managed to exit the bus safely, with no injuries reported, although the vehicle was completely engulfed in flames within half an hour. The incident occurred around 2:40 PM.

According to fire department officials, the bus was en route from Sindhi Camp bus stand in Jaipur to Kekri. Smoke was first noticed rising from the bus near the Mansarovar RIICO intersection, followed by visible flames.

Passengers reported that panic ensued as the fire intensified. The driver promptly pulled the bus over to the roadside and instructed passengers to evacuate. Within minutes, all passengers had safely exited the bus.

Eyewitnesses noted that the fire quickly consumed the entire vehicle. Shakuntala Saini, a firefighter from the Mansarovar Fire Station, stated that initial investigations suggest the fire was caused by a short circuit. Preliminary findings indicate that the fire started in the wiring system and rapidly spread to the engine, causing a swift escalation of the flames.

Upon receiving the alert, two fire tenders from the Mansarovar Fire Station arrived at the scene and worked for about 30 minutes to control the blaze. However, by that time, the bus had already sustained significant damage.

Police and fire officials confirmed that there were no injuries or reports of burns. Authorities have initiated a detailed investigation to determine the actual cause of the fire and assess the extent of the damage.
