Ghaziabad, June 16: A massive fire erupted late Monday night around 12 AM at Baba Market in Govindpuram, Ghaziabad, Uttar Pradesh. The blaze engulfed 4 to 5 shops, creating panic in the area.
Upon receiving the alert, the fire department promptly dispatched teams to the scene and initiated a large-scale rescue and firefighting operation.
According to fire officials, multiple fire engines were sent from the Kotwali fire station immediately after the report. Given the severity of the situation, a total of 8 fire tenders and several water tankers were deployed to the site. Firefighters worked swiftly to contain the flames and prevent further spread.
Fire officer Rahul Pal Singh stated that the shutters of the affected shops were very sturdy and securely closed, which delayed the firefighters’ access to the interiors. They had to cut through the shutters to reach the fire and begin extinguishing it.
After several hours of hard work, the fire department successfully brought the situation under control. Fortunately, there were no reports of injuries or casualties in this incident.
The cause of the fire remains unknown, and the fire department along with relevant authorities are investigating the matter. Timely action prevented a major disaster and safeguarded nearby shops.
