Anantnag, August 10 (Udaipur Kiran): A gunfight broke out between security forces and terrorists in the Ahllan area of Kokernag in Anantnag district of Jammu and Kashmir on Saturday. The encounter started during a search operation in the area.
A senior police officer said that a joint team of police and security forces launched a cordon and search operation in the Ahllan area based on specific intelligence. As the joint team moved towards the suspected area, the hidden terrorists opened fire, triggering the encounter. The encounter is ongoing, and intermittent firing is taking place from both sides. No casualties have been reported so far.
