Jodhpur, August 10 (Udaipur Kiran): The electrification work on the railway line between Raikabag and Phulera stations has been completed. This connects Jodhpur directly to Delhi by electric train.
Under the guidance of Manish Kumar Gupta, the Chief Electrical Engineer of North Western Railway, a successful trial run of the electric locomotive was conducted between Makrana and Phulera stations at a speed of 110 km/h. Soon, electric train services will begin between Jodhpur and Jaipur.
Jodhpur DRM Pankaj Kumar Singh mentioned that with the completion of electrification on the 64 km long rail route from Makrana to Phulera, 1568 km out of the total 1626 km rail route in Jodhpur Division has been electrified. Only 58 km of the Raikabag-Jaisalmer rail route remains to be electrified.
Electric train operations have already started between Jodhpur and Bikaner, as well as Marwar Junction stations.
Signals to Start Electric Train Operations
After a detailed inspection of the electrification work between Makrana and Phulera stations, Manish Kumar Gupta indicated that electric train services on this route will start soon. Earlier, he reviewed the electrification work at Phulera Junction Railway Station with officials from IRCON and North Western Railway.
Journey of Electrification
DRM Pankaj Kumar Singh explained that the electrification of the 250 km long rail route between Raikabag and Phulera was carried out in phases. The work was completed on both up and down lines between Makrana-Merta, Merta Road-Pipar Junction, Pipar Junction-Raikabag, and now between Makrana-Phulera.
