
Udaipur : Eight persons including seven kids were injured when a bus belonging to the State public transport department collided with an autorickshaw at Pahadi bus stand near Chetak circle in Udaipur on Friday morning. The accident took place around 7.15 when the autorickshaw wascarrying some ten children to school. All the students are from St Paul’s Senior Secondary School reading in the primary classes, police said.The autorickshaw was going towards Bhupalpura area when suddenly a speeding passenger bus hit them from front.
The collision was so hard that autorickshaw turned upside down thrice before collapsing. People were shocked at the sudden incident and before anyone could understand, the area was filled with cries and shouts from panicked children. People rushed to their help and pulled out the kids one by one. Hathipole police team arrived at the spot and rushed the victims to the hospital. There was much uproar and commotion at the civil hospital as worried parents and relatives gathered there.
Few of the kids had suffered injuries on their heads and faces. Four students sustained minor injuries while 3 others including Naher so Jujjar Hussain (12), Nakiya do Kagjar resident of Anjanta Gali and Mohammad Faiz so Riaz resident of Baguar Gali received grave injuries. The autorickshaw driver Mohammaf Yusuf is said to have serious head injuries and is under treatment at the MB hospital. The bus driver Shyamlal has been taken in custody and charged for rash driving, cops said.
