External Affairs Minister Sushma Swaraj, who is on a five-day visit to South Africa, was given a civic reception by the Indian community at Pietermaritzburg, South Africa.
Speaking on the occasion, the Minister said that India is a country of youth and under PM Modi’s leadership, the country is moving forward. She will attend a Youth Summit today where African and Indian youths will speak on the relevance of Mahatma Gandhi’s message of peace and harmony.
Earlier on Wednesday, the External Affairs Minister planted a sapling in the Phoenix settlement where Mahatma Gandhi had developed his philosophy of non-violence during his stay in South Africa. She also interacted with students of the Mahatma Gandhi Institute of Computer Education and Information Technology, a centre established by India.
