Udaipur : Contrary to the image of a government bus terminal in the minds of the common men, who often term the place as filthy, lacking facilities and dirty, the Rajasthan Roadways Bus Depot at Dungarpur is quite a neater place. Potholes, spitted walls, open urination and disrupted parking slots are a thing of past now as the bus terminal has assumed a new and cleaner look. Thanks to the efforts and pain taken by the Municipal Corporation here, that the bus stand no longer wears a shabby look but sparks and shines to welcome hundreds of passengers who come here.
A fountain at the entrance gives an idea of what one can expect inside. Waiting for their buses, people get to know of the various schemes run by the governments at the center and the state through LED television sets installed here. One gets proper information of bus schedules, arrivals and departures through the 24-hours announcement service extended here. At the Annapurna Rasoi van, common man relish nutritious food at low cost. “ A daily record is kept of the people who eat the food served at the Annapoorna van. They register the mobile number of the consumers so as to receive their feedbacks on the quality of meal being served” Rajendra Bhatt, Dungerpur collector told Udaipur Kiran.
On Wednesday the collector during a surprise visit to the bus stand, made random calls to get a feedback. He called one Suleman Khan from Ajmer and Dinesh Roat from Padla to ask whether they liked the meal and got a satisfactory response from both of them. “ Cleanliness and sanitation are on our top priority and there are ample number of trash bins to make sure that the passengers do not litter. The cleaners are disciplined and carry out the cleaning work timely” K.K Gupta, chairman, municipal corporation told Udaipur Kiran. Parking is systematic here, people have access to hygienic RO water at the cost of 1 Re/ liter. There is an incharge to monitor and ensure arrangements are proper everyday and to sort out difficulties that arise in rare chance.
