Jaipur, April 7, (Udaipur Kiran): Dr. S.L. Harsh, President of Maru Environment Conservation Institute (DECO), Jodhpur, will be honoured with the 16th Parshuram Environment Award for his outstanding contribution to environmental conservation. The award will be presented on April 19 in Jodhpur on the occasion of Parshuram Jayanti.

Programme coordinator and District President of Sarv Brahmin Samaj, Dr. Anand Raj Purohit, said that Dr. Harsh has been continuously working in the field of environmental protection for the past 50 years. The event will be attended by Justice Sanjeev Purohit, IAS officer Ashish Mishra, MLA Devendra Joshi, Lawyers Association President Anand Purohit, and physician Dr. Nagendra Sharma as distinguished guests.
Dr. Harsh has been actively associated with noted environmentalist Sunderlal Bahuguna since 1978, contributing significantly to environmental conservation efforts. He has planted more than five lakh saplings so far. For the past 30 years, he has been promoting environmental awareness through organic farming, Moringa Mission, and Azolla Mission in rural areas, schools, and colleges.
For his remarkable contributions, Dr. Harsh has previously been honoured by former Chief Minister Bhairon Singh Shekhawat. He has also received several national and international recognitions, including honours from Maharaja Gaj Singh and other organisations, such as Marwar Ratna, Marwar Gaurav, Veer Durgadas, and Lifetime Achievement awards.
Dr. Harsh has authored seven books on environmental subjects, published over 1,000 articles, and has been running the bi-monthly magazine “DECO Mirror” since 1994. He has also been associated with government projects related to watershed management, vermicomposting, microbial cultivation, and rainwater harvesting, and has served as an advisor to several reputed institutions across the country. Recently, he was also a member of the executive body of ICFRE, Dehradun.
