Crores Worth MD Drugs Lab Busted in Sirohi; Police Uncover Illegal Chemical Factory in Farmland

Sirohi, November 8 (Udaipur Kiran): In a major breakthrough against the narcotics trade, the Sirohi police have busted a large-scale illegal MD (synthetic drug) manufacturing lab operating secretly inside a farmhouse in the Dantrai area of the district. The police seized chemicals, equipment, and laboratory setups worth several crores of rupees used in the production of the banned substance.

Superintendent of Police Pyarelal Shivran said the seized materials were examined by teams from the Narcotics Control Bureau (NCB), Jodhpur, and the Centre for Excellence, Gujarat, both of which confirmed that the chemicals and equipment were indeed used for manufacturing MD (methylenedioxy) drugs.

Based on a tip-off, the Revdar police team raided a farmhouse on November 4 in the Dantrai region, belonging to Jodharam, son of Kanwla Purohit, a resident of Ampura Raniwada Kalla (Jalore).

During the search, police recovered 35 jerry cans and eight large drums filled with chemicals, along with boilers, bottles, chemical powder sacks, heating machines, thermometers, round-bottom flasks, separating funnels, and nozzle tubes — all essential tools for synthetic drug production.

Forensic examination of the seized material was carried out on November 5 by NCB Jodhpur, and on November 6, a specialized Centre for Excellence NDPS team from Gandhinagar (Gujarat) arrived for detailed verification. Both agencies jointly confirmed that the site was a fully functional MD drug manufacturing laboratory.

Preliminary investigation revealed that the landowner Jodharam had rented the property to Bhavesh alias Bhuraram, son of Daluram Jat, a resident of Payla Khurd, Sindhari (District Balotra), currently living in Raniwada. The accused was reportedly preparing to begin full-scale MD drug production.

Thanks to the swift action and strong intelligence network of the police, the illicit drug operation was dismantled before production could begin. The main accused Bhavesh alias Bhuraram has been named in the FIR, and further investigation is being conducted by NCB Jodhpur.

SP Shivran said the operation marks a major success under the special anti-narcotics drive launched across the Jodhpur Range, aimed at curbing the illegal drug trade in Rajasthan.
