New Delhi, March 8: Indian cricket team’s opener Prithvi Shaw has announced his engagement to girlfriend Akriti Agarwal. The couple has been dating for a considerable time. Shaw has been out of the Indian team for a while, with his last international match played against Sri Lanka on July 25, 2021.
Shaw shared the news on his social media account, Instagram, posting pictures with Akriti. In the caption, he wrote, “From sixes on the field to a wonderful innings for life. She is my perfect innings.” Fans have been showering the couple with congratulations in the comments section. The pictures depict a joyful Shaw and Akriti. Notably, Shaw has previously shared several pictures with Akriti on his Instagram, and they have also been seen creating reels together.
Akriti Agarwal, Shaw’s fiancée, is an influencer with over 3.2 million followers on Instagram. She is also an actress and is set to make her debut in the Telugu film “Trimukha.” Akriti regularly shares reels related to fashion, lifestyle, and dance on her Instagram.
Prithvi Shaw has played five Tests, six ODIs, and one T20 for India, scoring a total of 528 runs. He has one century and two half-centuries in Tests. Shaw has been out of the Indian team for an extended period, and during the IPL 2026 mega auction, he went unsold in the first two rounds. However, he was eventually bought by Delhi Capitals for a base price of 7.5 million. Shaw did not play for any team in IPL 2025 and had a lackluster performance in IPL 2024, scoring only 198 runs at an average of 24.75 in eight matches.
