UDAIPUR (Udaipur Kiran): On the occasion of World Cancer Day, a unique cricket match was organised in the city under the theme “United by Unique”, involving leading doctors, medical professionals and businesspersons. Through the match, participants conveyed the message that fitness is the strongest tool for a longer life and for staying away from diseases like cancer.

During the event, cancer specialist Dr Manoj Mahajan administered a special pledge to spread cancer awareness among 21 people in society, urging them to take a commitment to prevent the impact of cancer. In the match, Awais Ali was chosen as Best Batsman, Harshad Menaria as All-Rounder, Manoj Mahajan as Best Bowler and Dr Sujay Gupta as Striker.
After the match, doctors shared important health advice. Senior oncologist Dr Manoj Mahajan said that a healthy diet, regular exercise and timely medical check-ups are essential for cancer prevention. Anaesthetist Dr Nishigandha stressed the need to completely avoid smoking and tobacco. Orthopaedic surgeon Dr Sujay Gupta said that physical activity strengthens bones and reduces the risk of cancer. Oncologist Dr Ankur Sharma advised people to pay attention to early symptoms of cancer such as unusual lumps, weight loss and persistent fatigue, and recommended regular screening for those with a family history of the disease.
Young businessman Pranay Goyal, who participated in the programme, announced that he would organise seminars and awareness programmes under the Tobacco-Free India campaign. He said that sports like cricket not only provide entertainment but also help spread health awareness, calling on everyone to come together to defeat cancer.
Dr Kalpesh, Sawan Kumar Dosi, Suraj, Hadmat, Divyendu and Durgesh said the event would help promote cancer awareness in society. Experts appealed to the public, stating that cancer prevention is the biggest treatment, and urged people to stay fit and healthy.
