Lalitpur, August 18: Political tensions have escalated following Congress President Mallikarjun Kharge’s allegations against the BJP of indulging in divisive and hate politics. In response, BJP MLA Ramratan Kushwaha from Lalitpur launched a sharp counterattack, accusing Congress of appeasement and divisive politics within society.
Kushwaha stated that since losing power, Congress has been consistently making statements against the BJP on various issues. He emphasized that Congress should approach matters related to the nation with a sense of national sentiment rather than a political perspective. He questioned Congress’s stance on the national anthem, asserting that once a law is passed by both houses of Parliament and receives the President’s approval, all political parties and citizens must adhere to it.
He further remarked that coalition partners should also follow Congress’s policies. “When the national anthem is being played in your office, you cannot say to stop it or disrupt it. We should stand in attention and sing the anthem. If you do not know the entire anthem, you can remain silent and stand in attention to honor the nation. But to claim that we should not be taught patriotism is absurd. If you were truly patriotic, the country would not be in its current state. For 70 years, you have only practiced a ‘divide and rule’ policy, inciting conflict between Hindus and Muslims,” he said.
Kushwaha further claimed that while Congress pretends to be the greatest ally of Muslims, it is not genuinely so. In contrast, he argued that the BJP is working for the welfare of all communities. “Today, people from all communities are associated with the BJP. The government is fulfilling every expectation of Muslims, providing housing, loans for work, and all necessary facilities without any caste discrimination. Despite this, there is a fear instilled that the BJP is your enemy, a party supported by hardcore Hindus. Our party respects Sanatan culture,” he added.
He questioned, “If we are nurturing Sanatan culture, what is wrong with that? Sanatan culture is our way of life and our methodology, with Lord Ram as our ideal. Those who do not have the right sentiments towards this say, ‘Do not teach us patriotism.’ You should learn to respect this country. Patriotism will only be evident when you work for the nation’s development and support decisions made in the national interest. This sentiment should be instilled in them. They are arrogant, believing they can say whatever they want. Their only agenda is to somehow remove Prime Minister Narendra Modi from office, which is not possible.”
