Udaipur, November 8 (Udaipur Kiran) — Winter has arrived early in the City of Lakes, with chilly winds making life shiver across Udaipur. The minimum temperature in the city dipped to 9.5°C, marking the coldest night of the season so far.

While the day saw some sunshine, cold winds continued throughout, and the chill intensified after sunset. On Friday, Udaipur recorded a maximum temperature of 22.8°C — a slight drop of 0.2°C — while the minimum temperature fell sharply by 4.5°C to reach 9.5°C.
As the cold tightened its grip, morning streets appeared deserted, and tea and soup stalls witnessed increased crowds. Two-wheeler riders and students heading to schools and colleges faced biting cold during early hours.
According to the Meteorological Department, the sharp fall in temperature is due to recent snowfall in the western Himalayan region. The icy winds blowing from northern areas have brought down night temperatures rapidly across Rajasthan.
More Chill Ahead
The Jaipur Meteorological Centre has predicted that the cold wave is likely to intensify in the coming week. Temperatures are expected to continue falling for the next three to four days. While daytime conditions may stabilize slightly later, the nights are expected to get even colder as November progresses.
