COAS Commends Troops for Vigilant Defence Along Western Front During Operation SINDOOR

Jaipur | Monday, 19 May 2025 : General Upendra Dwivedi, Chief of the Army Staff (COAS), visited the forward post of Laungewala in the Konark Corps sector on Monday to personally commend the troops for their outstanding performance during Operation SINDOOR and to review the synergy achieved through joint operations with the Indian Air Force (IAF) and Border Security Force (BSF).

Operation SINDOOR: A Swift and Unified Response

The desert stretches of Jaisalmer to Kutch witnessed rapid and coordinated military action under Operation SINDOOR, aimed at ensuring operational superiority along the western front. The Indian Army, in close coordination with the IAF and BSF, executed a decisive response to emerging threats, deploying surveillance assets and air defence systems to neutralise enemy intent.

Operational enablers, including precision-placed weapon systems and strategic logistical support, were seamlessly integrated with civil administration resources, resulting in effective area domination and enhanced threat neutralisation capabilities.

COAS Lauds Troops’ Commitment and Courage

While interacting with soldiers of the Konark Corps, General Dwivedi raised a spirited “Shabash!” to acknowledge their valour, unwavering dedication, and resilience in securing the International Boundary. The Army Chief specifically praised their swift neutralisation of enemy drone incursions, which thwarted any potential cross-border misadventures in the harsh desert terrain.

He lauded the troops for their operational readiness and high morale, especially while operating in extreme summer conditions, a true testament to their commitment to the defence of the nation.

Recognition of Professionalism and Joint Operational Excellence

General Dwivedi also congratulated the formation’s commanders and units for their professionalism and integrated execution of mission-critical tasks. He reaffirmed the Indian Army’s ethos of honour, discipline, and perpetual readiness to confront future threats with decisive strength.

Highlighting the importance of joint force integration, he emphasised the seamless cooperation between the Indian Army, IAF, and BSF as a model for future operations in dynamic threat environments.

Concluding his visit, the COAS expressed heartfelt appreciation for the men and women serving in the unforgiving desert sector, particularly during the height of summer. He conveyed the Nation’s gratitude for their unrelenting service and courage in upholding India’s sovereignty and ensuring national security under demanding conditions.
