Mumbai, May 1: Maharashtra Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis expressed his gratitude to Prime Minister Narendra Modi for his wishes on Maharashtra Day. He stated that the Prime Minister’s unwavering support for Maharashtra is invaluable and inspiring.

In a response on social media platform X to a three-page letter from PM Modi, Fadnavis acknowledged the Prime Minister’s greetings and shared vision for a ‘Developed Maharashtra’ on the occasion of the state’s foundation day.

Fadnavis wrote, “Today is a very special day for every citizen of Maharashtra, and your affectionate message has made this occasion even more special. Your message beautifully reflects Maharashtra’s rich heritage, social and cultural contributions, economic progress, and its role in India’s development, including notable changes in Gadchiroli.”

He emphasized that PM Modi’s words, guidance, and continued strong support for Maharashtra are truly invaluable and motivating. Fadnavis expressed confidence that the Prime Minister would continue to provide guidance and encouragement in the future, extending heartfelt thanks on behalf of the people of Maharashtra.

Earlier, PM Modi had conveyed his wishes to the people of Maharashtra on the state’s foundation day, describing Maharashtra as a “constant source of inspiration” for Indian civilization. He noted that the year 2026 is of great cultural and historical significance for the state.

The Prime Minister discussed an ambitious roadmap for Maharashtra’s future alongside its glorious past and highlighted significant infrastructure investments and cultural achievements. He referred to Maharashtra as a leading state in India’s “economic transformation,” emphasizing its crucial role in infrastructure and innovation.

PM Modi cited a record allocation of ₹24,000 crore for railway projects in 2025-26 as evidence of the central government’s unprecedented support. He outlined three major engines of development, including the expansion of the Mumbai Metro Aqua Line, the development of Navi Mumbai Airport, and the Bidkin Industrial Area in Sambhajinagar as a future industrial hub, along with the remarkable transformation in Gadchiroli following a decrease in left-wing extremism, attracting thousands of crores in investment.

He praised the developed Maharashtra roadmap, which is structured in three phases for 2029, 2035 (the state’s Amrit Mahotsav), and 2047, aligning with the national goal of a ‘Developed India.’

PM Modi concluded by stating, “Maharashtra’s contribution to India’s progress is unparalleled. It remains the most preferred state for investors.”
