BRICS Agriculture Ministers Conference Set for June in Indore

Indore, May 5: Chief Minister Dr. Mohan Yadav announced that the BRICS Agriculture Ministers’ Conference will take place from June 9 to 13 in Indore. He expressed pride in hosting this significant event, which brings together major emerging economies. The conference aims to enhance economic cooperation, trade, and geopolitical dialogue among member nations.

Ministers from 21 countries, including Brazil, Russia, India, China, South Africa, Uganda, Egypt, Saudi Arabia, Malaysia, Nigeria, Thailand, the UAE, Colombia, and Indonesia, will participate. Senior agricultural scientists and policymakers are also expected to attend. The state government is committed to ensuring the conference is conducted with full dignity and pride.

In addition, CM Yadav highlighted the inauguration of a mega solar power plant in Khargone, established at a cost of ₹271 crores under a public-private partnership model. This 60-megawatt plant, funded through the Green Bond scheme by Indore Municipal Corporation, is expected to save the corporation ₹35 to ₹60 crores over its operational lifespan of 20 years.

He urged ministers to promote similar solar energy projects in their respective districts through urban bodies and other institutions. The Chief Minister also mentioned that a discussion program with ministers and departmental officials is scheduled between May 8 and 10 to review achievements and challenges.

Dr. Yadav emphasized the importance of holding district development committee meetings before May 12 and announced a one-day orientation for newly appointed officials at the state level. He also reported on the successful registration of 1.9 million farmers for wheat procurement, with ₹6,520 crores already disbursed.

The Chief Minister concluded by discussing the recent election results in various states, attributing the historic victory in West Bengal to the efforts of Prime Minister Modi and Home Minister Amit Shah.
