BJP once again lashed out at Congress party on various issues, party spokesperson Meenakshi Lekhi on Monday said that instead of mocking ‘Beti Bachao, Beti Padhao’ campaign, Congress party should look within and then she referred to former Kerala Chief Minister and other party leaders who have been named in a case of sexual abuse arising out of the solar scam.
Kerala Police registered rape cases against former chief minister Oommen Chandy and AICC general secretary K C Venugopal based on a complaint of scam accused Saritha S Nair.
Justice Sivarajan Commission, which probed the scam, had recommended that a case for sexual abuse could be registered against Chandy, Venugopal and other Congress leaders.
Based on the commission’s recommendation last November, LDF government had ordered criminal cases against Chandy and others.
But Chandy countered government’s move by convincing Kerala High Court to expunge the commission’s findings and observations against him.
