New Delhi, June 12: A crucial meeting aimed at strengthening the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) organization in Punjab will be held in Delhi. The meeting will be led by BJP President Nitin Naven and Home Minister Amit Shah.
Scheduled for 6:00 PM at the BJP headquarters, the gathering will see the presence of Punjab BJP President Kaul Singh Dhillon, former President Sunil Jakhar, and State Organization Minister Srinivas. Alongside them, Nitin Naven, Amit Shah, and Organization General Secretary B.L. Santosh will also participate.
This meeting follows a similar one held yesterday with the Tamil Nadu BJP team, where strategies were discussed to strengthen the party in light of changing circumstances in the state.
Earlier, Punjab BJP President Kaul Singh Dhillon wrote to Union Health and Family Welfare Minister J.P. Nadda, requesting timely and adequate supply of DAP (Di-Ammonium Phosphate) and urea in the state. In his letter, Dhillon referred to a meeting with Nadda on June 6, where the availability of these fertilizers for Punjab’s farmers was extensively discussed.
With the paddy sowing season now underway, he emphasized the urgent need for action given the seriousness of the situation. Dhillon highlighted Punjab’s critical role in the country’s food security, noting that shortages of DAP and urea often lead to long queues at cooperative societies and fertilizer sale centers during the sowing season, causing delays that directly impact crop production and government procurement systems.
He also pointed out that fertilizer shortages lead to hoarding and black marketing, forcing farmers to purchase fertilizers at prices above the prescribed maximum retail price (MRP), further exacerbating their financial difficulties.
