New Delhi, June 11: BJP leader Mukhtar Abbas Naqvi has criticized the internal discord within the Trinamool Congress (TMC). He remarked that since Abhishek Banerjee took on responsibilities in the party, there has been noticeable conflict and confusion. Quoting a song from Raj Kapoor’s film, Naqvi stated, “All secrets are out, the confidant is no more.”
In a conversation with a news agency, Naqvi expressed, “Friendship is no longer friendship, love is no longer love; all secrets are out, the confidant is no more.” He noted that the TMC, which was once a stronghold for Mamata Banerjee, has shown signs of turmoil and confusion since it became Abhishek’s domain. He urged the TMC to introspect on how arrogance, chaos, and overconfidence are leading to their downfall.
Regarding discussions about TMC merging with Congress, Naqvi commented, “After facing setback after setback, if someone tries to board a sinking ship, it is their own choice. The Congress is in a position where they are saying, ‘We are sinking, and we will take you down with us.’ If Mamata and Abhishek’s abode is a sinking ship, I say, ‘Get well soon.'”
On the Congress meeting in Delhi, Naqvi stated, “Congress has realized that their entitlement to power has been shattered. Prime Minister Modi’s successful tenure of 12 years has dealt a significant blow to Congress. They also understand that there will be no space for them in the center for the next 20-25 years. Still, let them try.”
Additionally, Naqvi responded to the upcoming NITI Aayog meeting chaired by Prime Minister Modi, stating, “Prime Minister Modi is tirelessly working across all sectors and is also reviewing the progress of various initiatives.”
On the issue of the ‘Conversion Prevention Cell,’ Naqvi emphasized the need to stop the ‘business of conversion’ through intimidation, funding, or pressure, asserting that measures against illegal conversions must be taken.
