New Delhi, May 10: BJP leader and Rajya Sabha member Gulam Ali Khatana has reacted to the formation of a new government in Tamil Nadu. In a conversation, Khatana welcomed the mandate for the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) in Tamil Nadu and congratulated Vijay on becoming the Chief Minister, stating, “Let’s see what Vijay does over time.” He emphasized that the Congress party is working to eliminate regional parties by supporting TVK under its agenda.
Khatana remarked, “The whole world knows that half of our country’s population is women. Prime Minister Modi has prioritized their dignity by providing toilets, empowering them economically, and including them in the three-tier governance system. Now, the goal is to empower women in assemblies and Parliament as well.”
He noted that women are already making significant contributions by managing both their professional careers and families. However, he criticized the Congress and other regional parties in the India alliance for sidelining women and depriving them of opportunities. “Gradually, women will teach them a lesson,” he added.
Regarding Himanta Biswa Sarma, Khatana stated, “He is a popular leader dedicated to his work and connected with the public. I congratulate him on receiving a strong mandate for the party.”
Khatana also responded to Arvind Kejriwal’s statement about Punjab standing against the central government’s injustices, saying, “India is no longer a country of scams; it is a nation on the path of reform. We are in an era of transparency, and the public demands accountability. We are moving towards a developed India. Punjab was once the richest state in the country, but today it is plagued by corruption and drugs.”
He concluded by stating that the people of Bengal have given the BJP a full majority under PM Modi’s leadership, expressing their desire to contribute to the country’s economy for a developed India. “With a double-engine government, the law and order situation in the state will improve. Bengal will progress with everyone’s support and development.”
