New Delhi, May 9: Ahead of the swearing-in ceremony for the new BJP government in West Bengal, party leaders expressed confidence that the people of the state are ready to embrace a ‘second freedom’ since independence. They anticipate that under Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s leadership, West Bengal will embark on a path of development.
BJP leader Suvendu Adhikari is set to become the first Chief Minister of West Bengal from the party.
BJP MP Raju Bista emphasized the significance of this moment, stating that while the country has experienced one freedom, West Bengal has witnessed two: one from the British and the other from the Congress, CPI(M), and Trinamool Congress.
He noted that the people of West Bengal now wish to progress alongside the nation.
BJP MP Jyotirmay Singh Mahato remarked that the Trinamool Congress has only governed for one community. However, the upcoming government will operate under the motto of ‘Sabka Saath, Sabka Vikas, and Sabka Vishwas’ led by Prime Minister Modi.
Mahato further asserted that the people of West Bengal will no longer accept the Trinamool Congress. He described the swearing-in ceremony as a historic event for the state.
Delhi BJP President Virendra Sachdeva stated that forming a government in West Bengal is ‘significant’ for the party, claiming that the state has been deprived of development and has been known for exploitation and infiltration.
Rajasthan’s Deputy Chief Minister Daya Kumari extended her best wishes to the new government, attributing its formation to the hard work of all involved, and declared an end to the ‘gunda raj’, oppression, and appeasement politics in Bengal.
