Patna, 2 September (Kiran News): The Bihar Cabinet, chaired by Chief Minister Nitish Kumar, approved a total of 49 proposals during a meeting held at the Cabinet Hall of the Main Secretariat on Tuesday. Among the key decisions, the honorarium for Gram Kachahari Secretaries has been increased from Rs 6,000 to Rs 9,000 per month.

The honorarium for Technical Assistants and Lekhpal-cum-IT Assistants of the Panchayati Raj Department has also been revised, effective from 1 July 2025. The monthly honorarium for Gram Kachahari Secretaries will now be Rs 9,000, up from the previous Rs 6,000.
In addition, the Cabinet approved the creation of 25 new posts in the Department of Art and Culture. Approval was also granted for the creation of 1,800 new teaching and non-teaching posts in 40 residential schools under the Department of Scheduled Castes and Scheduled Tribes Welfare.
For sports and infrastructure development at the Patna divisional headquarters, a sum of Rs 574 crore 33 lakh 90 thousand 125 was sanctioned for the acquisition of 100 acres of land in Dumri, Punpun Anchal. Additionally, Rs 4,129 crore 6 lakh was approved for the construction of the JP Ganga Path along the banks of the Ganga river in Patna.
