Eyewitnesses reported that the bear appeared near the Andheri Pol area, triggering immediate panic. Online videos show frightened tourists running to safety as the bear wanders around the fort, apparently alarmed by human presence. The tense situation lasted around ten minutes before the bear exited the fort and returned to the nearby forest, allowing visitors to breathe a sigh of relief.

Panic at Ranthambore Fort as Bear Causes Chaos
Forest Department on High Alert, Investigation Underway

As of now, the Forest Department has not issued an official statement on the incident. However, teams are actively investigating the matter, and officials have instructed heightened vigilance in and around the fort premises.

This is not the first time wildlife movement has raised concerns at Ranthambore Fort. Kartik Suman was seven years old when, on April 16, the female cub from tigress T-84, (Arrowhead), killed him in that same area. The fort was closed for 9 days after the tragedy. It was only on Friday that authorities reopened the fort under strict security guidelines.

The bear’s presence just a day later has once again raised serious questions about the effectiveness of current safety measures at this heavily frequented heritage site.

Authorities Urge Vigilance Amid Ongoing Wildlife Risks

Given Ranthambore Fort’s proximity to Ranthambore National Park, the risk of wildlife straying into public areas remains persistent. Local administration and the Forest Department are now enhancing surveillance efforts and closely monitoring animal movements to prevent further incidents.

Officials have also appealed to tourists and devotees to exercise caution during their visits and to immediately report any wildlife sightings or emergencies to authorities. As human-wildlife interactions continue to pose challenges in the region, long-term strategies for coexistence and safety are being considered.
