Apple recently released its latest iPad models after a gap of two years. A recent leak suggests that future models could hit the market, including the 7th generation iPad mini and the base 11th generation iPad. According to the identifiers found, the iPad mini can be powered by the A17 chipset also used in the iPhone 15 Pro models. On the other hand, the next generation of the base iPad may have an A16 chip under the hood.

According to a post by user @aaronp613, Apple has reportedly canceled six of these models. The list of discontinued models included two basic iPad models with the A14 chip and four iPad Pro models with the M3 chip in 11- and 13-inch sizes, the last of which was finally released in “Let Loose” with the M4 chip. event in May.
The leak also suggests that Apple may be planning to release eight iPad models in the future. One ID is reportedly linked to the 11th generation iPad, which may feature Apple’s A16 SoC. It is expected to come with Wi-Fi and cellular options.
The other ID supposedly belongs to the 7th generation iPad mini. The tablet may be powered by the 3nm A17 Pro SoC, the same chipset used in the flagship iPhone 15 Pro and iPhone 15 Pro Max. Notably, the iPad (2022) will launch in 2021 and the iPad mini (2021) in 2021 was released in , that is, years have passed since Apple updated its product range.
While Apple unveiled the new iPad Pro models in May, a new generation tablet based on TSMC’s 2nm manufacturing process and powered by the unannounced M5 chipset is rumored to be in development. The proposed iPad Pro is expected to be available in two sizes: 11-inch and 13-inch, similar to the existing models, and available in both Wi-Fi and cellular configurations.
