Say goodbye to Touch ID, hello to Face ID and bigger screens
According to recent leaks and renders, the iPhone SE 4 will say goodbye to the iconic Touch ID button in favor of a notch. The design on the front may be similar to the iPhone 13 and may support Face ID, while the back may be similar to the iPhone Xr. With a single camera, the change allows for the integration of Face ID authentication and a larger 6.1-inch OLED display, a significant improvement over the iPhone SE 2022’s current 4.7-inch display.
Hong believes that the iPhone SE 4 will have a frame size of 148.5 x 71.2 x 7.8 mm and a weight of around 166 grams. The device is said to feature a 7000-series aluminum alloy frame with a rectangular design and glass panels on the front and back.
Equipped with a new chipset inside
Under the hood, the iPhone SE 4 features an Apple A16 Bionic chipset, a Snapdragon X70 modem and an Apple U1 UWB chip. Storage options can include 6GB of LPDDR5 RAM with either 128GB or 512GB of NVMe flash storage. Connectivity options may include Wi-Fi 6, Bluetooth 5.3, and a USB-C port with 2.0 speed.
The battery capacity is said to be around 3000 mAh, some sources put it at 3279 mAh. The iPhone SE 4 supports 20W wired charging and 12W wireless charging and will likely also support MagSafe.
The camera department can also be improved
While some rumors suggest the use of an ultra-wide-angle lens, recent leaks suggest that the device will likely feature a single camera. Tipsters have suggested that the iPhone SE 4 may feature a 48-megapixel IMX503 camera sensor with a size of 1/2.55 inches and an aperture of f/1.8, which is expected for the iPhone SE 2022.
