Mumbai, April 7, 2026 (Udaipur Kiran) — Anant Ambani, Executive Director of Reliance Industries, has announced multiple initiatives related to temple preservation and animal welfare during his visit to Kerala.
He donated a total of ₹6 crore to two major temples — Rajarajeshwaram Temple and Guruvayur Temple — and also committed an additional ₹12 crore for the extensive renovation of Rajarajeshwaram Temple.
At the ancient Rajarajeshwaram Temple in Taliparamba, located in Kannur district, Ambani donated ₹3 crore. He further pledged ₹12 crore for large-scale restoration work, which includes reconstruction of the historic East Gopuram that has remained in a deteriorated condition for a long time. The plan also covers improvements in infrastructure and parking facilities for devotees.
Later, Ambani visited the Guruvayur Temple in Thrissur district, where he offered prayers and donated ₹3 crore to the temple trust. He also extended support for initiatives focused on the welfare of temple elephants, including the development of hospitals, chain-free shelters, and modern care facilities.
These initiatives include plans to establish dedicated hospitals for elephants, create chain-free shelters, and introduce advanced care systems to ensure humane and scientific treatment while maintaining traditional practices. The effort is considered part of Ambani’s broader wildlife conservation project Vantara.
Temple authorities welcomed him with traditional honours, with officials from the Devaswom boards and priests present on the occasion.
Speaking during the visit, Ambani said that India’s spiritual traditions are not just places of worship but living institutions that connect society, nature, and compassion. He added that preserving this heritage for future generations is a shared responsibility.
