47th Mass Wedding Ceremony Begins with 50 Couples
Udaipur : There were smiles on the faces of some after years of waiting, while others had dreams in their eyes for a better future. Dressed in yellow, 50 couples sat together on a stage decorated with yellow flowers. The scene reflected a new beginning, as if the struggles of the past had been left behind and life had taken on a new color of hope.
For some, it was a day to move ahead after years of loneliness. For others, it was the beginning of a dream to have their own home despite financial difficulties.
The two-day 47th free mass wedding ceremony for persons with disabilities and young men and women from financially weaker families began with devotion, happiness and warmth at Narayan Seva Sansthan’s Seva Mahateerth campus in Leela Ka Guda on Saturday.
Ceremony Begins with Lord Ganesha Worship
The wedding ceremony began in the morning with the installation and worship of Lord Ganesha. A dance performance on the devotional song “Ghar Mein Padharo Gajanan Ji” marked the beginning of the programme.
Traditional haldi and mehendi ceremonies followed, filling the entire campus with a festive atmosphere.
At 11:15 am, all 50 couples arrived on the stage of the Hada Auditorium in yellow clothes. The stage was decorated with yellow flowers.
Narayan Seva Sansthan founder and chairman Padma Shri Kailash ‘Manav’, co-founder Kamla Devi, president Prashant Agrawal and director Vandana Agrawal, along with the special guests, performed the Ganesh Puja and formally began the wedding ceremony.
Under the guidance of director Vandana Agrawal, the guests took part in the traditional wedding rituals. They applied haldi to the couples and participated in the mehendi ceremony. The guests also danced to wedding songs.
The sound of the dholak, music, songs and laughter created the feeling of a large family celebration across the campus.
Service Workers Honoured
During the ceremony, special guests and people associated with social service were honoured.
Former Indian Army Commander B.L. Bandhan from Agra and Rajesh Kanjani from Argentina were among those honoured. They were presented with traditional turbans, scarves and mementos by founder-chairman Kailash ‘Manav’, president Prashant Agrawal, director Vandana Agrawal and Jagdish Arya.
Indian Culture Showcased During Women’s Music Evening
The first evening of the ceremony featured a women’s music and dance programme.
Performances based on Radha-Krishna, Hanuman, the nine forms of Goddess Durga and Lord Ram were presented on stage. These performances showcased different aspects of Indian culture.
The colorful costumes, music and performances added to the festive atmosphere. The audience enjoyed presentations showing the love of Radha-Krishna, the devotion of Hanuman, the strength of Goddess Durga and the ideals of Lord Ram.
The evening continued with wedding songs, dancing and applause, keeping the Seva Mahateerth campus full of celebration and happiness.
Seven Rounds Around the Sacred Fire on Sunday
Narayan Seva Sansthan president Prashant Agrawal said that all 50 couples will take the seven rounds around the sacred fire according to Vedic rituals at 11:15 am on Sunday.
The couples will then officially begin their married life. The institute will also provide each newly married couple with essential household items to help them start their new life.

Guests Visit ‘World of Humanity’
The guests attending the ceremony also visited Narayan Seva Sansthan’s newly built facility, ‘World of Humanity’.
They saw various service projects run by the institution and interacted with patients undergoing treatment. They also learned about the organisation’s work in providing services, treatment and rehabilitation support to persons with disabilities and people in need.
