Aerial firing, clash at hospital premises in Nimbahera creates commotion

Udaipur : A long standing dispute between two parties over a mining issue led to a clash and aerial firing at government hospital premises in Nimbahera town of Chittorgarh district on Thursday. A police complaint has been taken and cops have taken 6 persons in custody, sources claimed. Firing incidents are quite frequent in the area and reportedly large number of people are in possession of illegal arms. According to sources, 6 firing incidents have taken place in the area in past 4 months, police have even seized illegal arms from the accused persons, however, the police has not been able to trace the suppliers of these weapons.

According to sources, Ambalal Charan and Amardan residents of Malla Charan village under Sadar police station area are arch rivals due to some mining dispute between their families. On wednesday night, a heated conversation turned physical and the rivals engaged into a fight, 7 persons from a side were injured. A complaint was taken and the injured were taken to the Nimbahera hospital for medical examination, men from the opposition group chased them to the hospital and barged into the porch. Some had carried arms and one of them fired in the air to create a panic. While they were thrashing a man, three people who intervened to save the victim, got hurt in the course. Patients and companion screamed and ran helter skelter to escape.

DySP Gopichand Meena and Kotwali police teams rushed to the hospital on being informed, however, the accused had fled by then. A complaint has been taken against 10 persons while 5 men were referred to the Chittorgarh district hospital for treatment. Prahlad and Ramesh son of Ambalal, Preetraj and Kesar son of Amardan, Amardan and Ramesh sons of Chatardan, Tikam and Ganesh sons of Kishan Nayak and Lakhandas were among the injured who were treated at the Nimbahera hospital.
