ACB Catches Cooperative Society Manager Taking ₹30,000 Bribe in Jhunjhunu

Jaipur, January 12: (Udaipur Kiran). The Anti-Corruption Bureau (ACB) on Monday caught Mahipal Singh, Manager of the Kraya Vikraya Sahakari Samiti, Dhandhar, district Jhunjhunu, red-handed while accepting a bribe of ₹30,000.

The action was taken by the ACB Jhunjhunu unit following directions from the ACB headquarters. The accused was arrested while taking the bribe amount from the complainant.

ACB Director General Govind Gupta said a complaint was received alleging that the complainant had sold moong produce under the Minimum Support Price (MSP) scheme at the Kraya Vikraya Sahakari Samiti, Dhandhar, on behalf of his father, uncle and others. The manager allegedly demanded a bribe of ₹300 per quintal for weighing the produce and further demanded ₹5,000 per farmer separately for affidavits.

According to the complaint, around 100 quintals of moong belonging to the complainant and his acquaintances were weighed at the cooperative society. Following the complaint, a confidential verification of the bribery demand was conducted on January 5, 2026, which confirmed that the accused had demanded ₹30,000 as bribe.

Based on the verification, a trap was laid on January 12, 2026, during which Mahipal Singh was caught red-handed while accepting ₹30,000 from the complainant. The bribe amount was recovered from the jacket worn by the accused. Further proceedings at the spot were ongoing.

The trap operation was conducted under the supervision of DIG Anil Kayal, Jaipur Range, and Additional Superintendent of Police Narendra Kumar Poonia of ACB Jhunjhunu, along with the team.

Under the supervision of Additional Director General of Police Smita Srivastava and Inspector General Satyendra Kumar, further interrogation is underway. A case has been registered under the Prevention of Corruption Act and further investigation is in progress.
